Attitude to Subjects

Attitude to School Subjects

Years 2-7

A short instrument that asks students about their opinions regarding the importance of 12 subject areas, and whether they feel able to handle the work they are doing in those areas. The test results in a profile of student attitude across the subject areas. More detailed information about specific subjects can be obtained from the separate subject instruments listed.

Attitude to Library

Years 3-10

Students’ opinions regarding their use and enjoyment of the library, and their assessment of their ability to use it to find resources for study and pleasure.

Attitude to Reading

Years 3-7

A self-assessment inventory that asks students about such aspects as the enjoyment of reading, books available at home, use of the local library, ability to handle set reading tasks.

Attitude to Science

Years 6-12

40 item inventories asking students about their interest in, enjoyment of, ability to handle, and the perceived value of science.

EasyMark Attitude to Mathematics (24 items)

Years 3-7

A 24 item self-assessment inventory which asks students about such aspects as the enjoyment of mathematics, their ability to handle the work and their assessment of the importance of mathematics.

EasyMark Attitude to Mathematics (40 items)

Years 8-12

A 40 item self-assessment inventory which asks students about such aspects as the enjoyment of mathematics, their ability to handle the work and their assessment of the importance of mathematics.

EasyMark Attitude to Health or Physical Education

Years 3-10

A self-assessment of students’ interests in and enjoyment of Physical Education, their assessment of its value and of their ability to handle the activities they are given.

Attitude to Art, Drama, and Music

Years 3-10

These three surveys provide self-assessment of students’ interest in and enjoyment of each subject.

There are several forms available that address learning styles and classroom practices. These can be easily modified to suit your purpose.



Attitude Measures

Attitude to School (24 Item)

Years 2-7

A questionnaire gathering information about students’ enjoyment of school, interest in the subjects, the value of education, parent attitude to education, etc. Normed comparative data are included.

Attitude to School (60 Item)

Years 6-12

A questionnaire gathering information about students’ enjoyment of school, interest in the subjects, the value of education, parent attitude to education, etc. Normed comparative data are included.

Bullying & Safety in Our School

Years 4-12

Whole school focus on detailed information from a short survey. Includes gender breakdowns.

Smaller groups can also use the test.

Attitude to Bullying (60 Item)

Years 6-12

A version of the Attitude to School instrument, asks about the frequency and severity of bullying at the school, who is bullied and what is done about bullying.

Student Self Esteem

Years 2-12

A 40 item self-assessment inventory which gathers information about students’ ability to make friends, secure, self-confidence, self-acceptance, etc. Normed scores identify children at risk. Class and school profiles are provided.

Personal Qualities Affecting Learning

Years 6-12

A 40-item inventory gathering information about non-academic aspects of schooling such as working cooperatively, participating actively in learning, etc.

Study Skills Inventory

Years 6-12

This inventory asks students about their Learning skills (such as note-taking and summarising), access to resources for homework and study (such as references), goal-setting, and exam skills. Results for each student and class are provided in comparison with State norms. Information is provided about each student both globally and regarding each item. A Whole School profile is provided.

Attitude to Administration Team

Staff

This questionnaire focuses on the role performance of the administrative team.
